Indian Summer

you be my woman
and I’ll be your man
tell me your secrets
and I’ll understand
‘cause no will know you
and no one can show you
the unflinching love
that I can

we weren’t really looking
when we crossed our paths
though merely existing
we never looked back
but when our hearts focused
we couldn’t deny
long searched for soul mate
in the other one’s eyes

come here pretty lady
where do we go now
we’re locked in our lives
and can’t really get out
you’re throwing me kisses
across the blue sky
I can’t catch a thought
without you by my side

you be my woman
and I’ll be your man
I’ll tell you my secrets
know you’ll understand
‘cause no will know me
and no one can show me
the unflinching love
that you can

now Indian summer

has surprised the fields

and poor butterflies

are awakened too soon

they know it’s not spring

but they don’t really care

what is real

winter’s upon us

so, we have to blossom

and shine like a nova

before we’re forgotten

we have to love hard

and without regret

we don’t have the time

that most lovers get

let’s unlock these shackles

please take my hand

squeeze a lifetime of loving

in such a short span

‘cause no will know you

and no one can show you

the unflinching love

that I can

‘cause no will know you

and no one will show you

the unending love

that I can
