Sleepytown (Emily’s Lullaby)

 NAKED DREAMS

Sleepytown (Emily’s Lullaby)

little ball of fire, little smiley face
you’ve been playing so hard, now it’s getting late
you want to keep going, but your battery’s running down
close your pretty eyes and go to sleepytown

sleepytown’s such a wonderful city
the river’s chocolate syrup
and the streets are lined with candy
you can run and jump and climb
but you’ll never fall down
nothing’s gonna hurt you
when you go to sleepytown

momma fell asleep, the kids have gone to bed
daddy’s getting tired, so rest your weary head
up against my chest and i’ll walk you all around
we’ll catch the next train that goes to sleepytown

sleepytown’s such a wonderful place
with clouds of whipped cream
and buildings made of cake
you can screech and yell and scream
and no one minds the sound
you never get in trouble
when you go to sleepytown

little ball of fire, little rosy cheeks
you’ve been playing so hard, now you’re fast asleep
as i lay you in your bed, a tear rolls gently down
and i pray that god will keep you
‘til you’re home from sleepytown
