BROKEN COMPASS

Visionarium

Socrates said...
the worst death can be
is a dreamless sleep...
i say it's an eternal dream

another day vanished
a slice of life
gone
the sun fades
thru particles of air
freeing my mind

now i lay me down
precious numbness
of deep sleep
i pray the cocoon
my butterfly keep

tumbling thru tunnels
dark…distant
passing the hourglass
i can’t see the sand
just waves

light sears the frosty vision
color fills times vacuum
images form slowly
objects focus
magic, moving elegance

script rolls
uncontrolled
as my subconscious directs
midnight’s matinee
