The Kiss
  JERRY BROWNING

 ..FOLLOWING SEAS

The Kiss

my heart cries out for blue eyes
but my weighty words fall free
i need to taste her cherry lips
and passion flow thru me

i long to see that glowing smile
and hear her gentle sigh
but i’m bound to take the demon’s lair
and cross the great divide

as the world crashes down around me
to be swept up by the sea
i hold fast with a madman’s grip
still my spirit wants to flee

a light shines in the distance
a boat drifts to the shore
a shadow waves a boney arm
terror chills my empty soul

my cracked skull lets the black slip in
sharp chiming leaves me deaf
my heart cries out for blue eyes
to embrace the lips of death
