Mistress Youth

 NAKED DREAMS

Mistress Youth

what a crazy night

i was thinking about writing

a country song called

"don't make me get

        my hillbilly on"

but just can't get it right

i still ignore the pain

both past and present

my teeth are wearing down

and it gets harder to hide

my emotions

been thinking 'bout life

my life in retro

when i had nothing to fear

except being the last

surviving testimonial

mom gave me back

my old ship's cap

and i wore it for the first time

in almost twenty years

proudly

i am now officially

an old man

mistress youth.....

i miss your lips

and pretty eyes

and curvy body

and hot, nasty passion!

ummmmmm

but I know your shallow heart

would never have quenched

the dimensions of my being

so I clutch my vanilla dream

knowing the illusion of technicolor

is best left fleeting
