A Toast
  JERRY BROWNING

 ..FOLLOWING SEAS

A Toast

your radiance drew
my compass point
leaving my lovely map
like scribbles
in a child’s drawing book

your heart sang out
sweet melodies
echoing in my mind
teasing my soul
to salivate
eternally

your beauty must be
ravishing
for i’ve drained
my palette colorless
now my canvas stands
worn torn tired

i know you’re out there
and we both lost
our destined romance…
are you as bitter as i ?

let’s raise our glasses
in our separate worlds
and toast the perfect love
sought too hard
to find…

cheers
