JERRY BROWNING

EMOTIONOGRAPHY

Human Race

all stagger on
reaching for strength
feeling for balance
like a marathon
at night

only the graceful
gli-i-i-ide
recklessly smooth
and beautifully light
burning, burning, burning
like an early morning star

focusing on illusions
struggling toward the finish line
first to realize…
there are no champions
no losers
just runners

how much ground have you covered
does it matter in the dark?
