Bedtime Stories
  JERRY BROWNING

 BROKEN COMPASS

Bedtime Stories

image and inner-self
drifted on abandoned seas
pulling from the undertow
to a depth my mind can’t be…
where were you then my love?
i heard your soft voice calling

i was walking on the beach
sun was setting low
dangling dim horizons
motionless
too frightened to let go

hold me while i shake
kiss me as i cry
tell me this romance
will somehow never die
